NZSBA SCHOLARSHIP

NZSBA Scholarship for study in Nordic countries

The NZSBA Scholarship is funded by NZSBA and honours the service of Hans and Pat Björklund. The Scholarship's purpose is to support New Zealanders engaged in tertiary level study and/or related working experience in any of the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland) in subjects promoting or supporting cultural, political, and/or business relationships between New Zealand and the Nordic countries

The annual value of the Scholarship is a maximum of NZD 3,000

NZSBA expects the successful applicant:

  1. to share his or her learnings and experiences in the Nordic country with NZSBA, its members, and the wider community, to enhance the knowledge and experience gained from the Scholarship, and

  2. to help in promoting the Scholarship.

NZSBA will confirm specific promotional requirements when awarding the Scholarship to the successful applicant

The Hans and Pat Björklund Scholarship for studies in Scandinavia exists to support recipients who are interested in studies and/or working experience in Scandinavia.

How do you apply?

Applications must be 31st of May each year:

  1. Complete the application form (below), and

  2. Provide the information set out in the rules (below), and

  3. Provide any further information requested by NZSBA.
     

Who can apply for the Scholarship?

Only New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand are eligible. The additional application criteria can be found by following the link (below)

Is there only one Scholarship on offer each year?

Typically, one Scholarship is available each year for a payment or payments not exceeding NZD 3,000 in total payments.

However, the committee of the NZSBA may determine, at its discretion, to award the Scholarship for a lesser amount to one or more successful applicants, or not to award a Scholarship in any particular year.

When is an applicant notified?


For each year’s application round, applicants will be notified mid-late June if they are successful. If successful, an applicant will receive the Scholarship funding by 1 August (the beginning of the Nordic academic year)(or when his or her studies commence, if later), or earlier on request.
