New Company Member - Line's Knækbrød
"It all started in 2011 when my parents came to visit from Denmark and brought this amazing recipe with them. I remember eating the Swedish Knækbrød as a child. With this recipe, it was love at first bite and we spent the rest of the summer & the following year baking and perfecting the recipe.
After lots of encouragement from friends who loved our Knækbrød, we decided it was too good not to share. So in September 2013 we took the plunge and launched 'Line's Knækbrød' we realised we were onto something and we quickly built up a steady loyal customer base.”
Consequently For the past two years Line has been busy developing her small Artisan Knækbrød business and slowly converting people in stores in and around Auckland, around the country, and at the Hobsonville Point Farmers Market to the tastes of Danish Knækbrød, so much that she was a recipient of a Cuisine Artisan Award in her first year of trading.
Each pack of Line's Knækbrød is handmade and contains over 33% seeds. “We add no sugar, dairy or yeast and use only a small amount of Himalayan salt as seasoning. We like to let the natural flavourings of the seeds speak for themselves. And we think this is where the magic lies. The result is; we think you'll agree: One seriously addictive Knækbrød.
I have just developed a beer cracker (øl Knækbrød) for Hallertau Brewery as part of their new Beer match menu. They wanted to use spent grain which is a by-product of the brewing process into something and I got the call!! …very exciting and fits right into my sustainability ethos."
